Studio Brief 2 - Professional Presence

Here I am discussing my progress of creating my Professional Presence.

My business cards

These are my initial designs for my business cards. I wanted to keep them simple and also have them resonate what my style tends to be and also involve my sense of humour.

When creating my business cards, I wanted my sense of humour and my aesthetic to shine through. I decided to use a watercolour, textured background because that's what I tend to use in my work. I added my twitter, instagram and facebook, however I rarely post on facebook or twitter, so I decided to put my instagram first because that tends to be what people tend to use. In the end I decided not to use swear words as I feel as though that would be unprofessional.

The boarder is a bit messed up but that was because of when I uploaded it to MOO, it would crop out certain parts of the photo. I had to move some of the text around in photoshop a few times to prevent this from happening.

I added one of my little nugget characters at the bottom because I hope to focus on this character in the future and make it a significant part of my branding.

My website

When designing my website I decided to go for a quirky and weird background that symbolises me. I chose the bananas because my favourite colour is yellow and I tend to use a lot of yellow in my work.

I added my showreel to my website as the first thing that shows up. I want my website to be visual and rarely involve text because that what my practice is often based around.

I uploaded a lot of my illustrations in order to demonstrate what kind of style I tend to go for. I hope that this demonstrates to visitors what I am capable of.

I included my instagram account, phone number and email at the bottom of my page. I wanted to aim to keep everything on the same page and avoid lots of links and words. I did this to avoid confusion and simplify things for my visitors.

My instagram is mostly practical material based and contains art that I post daily. I aim to focus on my instagram account more as well as twitter because these platforms seem to be a great way for practitioners to get their names out there.

It didn't take me long to put together my showreel, however I am disappointed that I didn't have time to finish colouring my scenes for my extended project. I do plan on updating my showreel sometime soon, as I feel like it isn't that great. I decided not to use things from first and most of second year as they seem unfinished and not great.

This is my CV. I wanted to keep it simple and straight to the point and only include my creative achievements throughout my education. I hope to add to my CV over summer, through collaborating with collectives based in leeds as well as friends and family.
