Studio Brief 1 - Creative Strategy - Professional Presentation

I am enjoying illustration more than animation at the moment. However I do still want to pursue animation in my own time. I want to create things for myself rather than work in a studio for as long as I can. I want to gain experience through my own practice rather than through a studio. I feel like this approach would be best for me because I haven't had chance to do my own things for a while because of education.

I did eventually access my website, which can be seen in my other blog post. I regularly post on my instagram account and follow quite a few practitioners that are based in leeds.

These are my business cards.

BEcaus eI want to elarn more about being a freelancer in leeds, I have planned to take part in the Freelancers summer school that uni offer. I hope to build on my confidence as well as the business side of my practice.

Northern craft, Girl gang and north bar are leeds based opportunities for me to take part in. Northern craft is a great place for me to socialise and get to know artists. Girl gang host socialising events for young creative females based in leeds but they also offer things in manchester as well. North bar have illustrative based events and exhibitions going on constantly. I hope to take part in their exhibition spaces at some point.

I want to carry on taking part in loopdeloop and also finish my graduation film that I did with Tess and Meg and enter them into competitions and festivals.

I plan on entering my graduation film to festivals like KLIK and MAF.

I decied to contact Nina Gantz for some advice and inspiration for when I leave university. I contacted various other practitioners and illustrators.

My plans for the next 6 months is this. I want to try everything and build on my confidence through contacting practitioners based in leeds. I want to branch out and become an illustrator who animates on the side when I feel like it because I love them both equally.
